A living insect-colony strategy roguelite for Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows.
In development
Wildgrid lets the player experience intelligence emerging from thousands of simple decisions. Guide a fictional colony through soil, gardens, walls, and buildings using pheromone networks and indirect priorities. The player does not click an individual worker and order it to pick up food — they shape information: establish trails, define safe and dangerous zones, tune task urgency, alter nests, and select traits that influence future generations.

The core loop
1. Scan the current micro-biome and identify food, water, nest sites, hazards, and unknown signals. 2. Paint pheromone routes and zones for exploration, harvesting, avoidance, defense, excavation, and rescue. 3. Tune colony-wide task urgency and caste development. 4. Expand chambers, reinforce tunnels, manage humidity and temperature, and cultivate food. 5. Observe worker flow, congestion, losses, and unexpected ecosystem interactions. 6. Respond to weather, predators, rivals, disease, and human activity. 7. Complete seasonal survival and optional ecological objectives. 8.
Features
- Indirect but understandable control: every swarm decision can be explained through visible signals and priorities
- An ecosystem, not a battlefield: predation, competition, weather, plants, fungi, pets, and people form interconnected pressures
- Adaptation across generations: players shape traits through environmental choices and breeding, not a linear upgrade tree
- Multiple valid survival strategies: hide, migrate, specialize, cooperate, parasitize, or dominate resources
- Nature-documentary wonder: intimate, curious, tense, and beautiful rather than gross or cartoonishly violent
Direction
"A natural-history illustration that comes alive under a macro lens." 2.5D stylized realism: physically recognizable materials, simplified insect silhouettes, painterly textures, and luminous information overlays; avoid photorealistic horror.
