A polar radio mystery for Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows.
In development
Explore abandoned listening stations across a frozen archipelago: restore analog instruments, map radio propagation, triangulate impossible transmissions, and uncover why every station recorded the same voice at a different time. The player is Mara Venn, a communications investigator sent to decommission the six-station Orison Array.
Fact sheet
- Genre Mystery · instrument puzzle
- Platforms iOS · Android · Windows · macOS
- Engine Unity 6
- Players Single-player; optional asymmetric two-player investigation mode
- Status In development
- Milestone Pre-production
The core loop
Arrive at a station and establish heat, light, power, and safe access; explore the architecture and reconstruct how the station was used; repair or reroute instruments with parts already present in the facility; search bands and identify candidate signals through audio and scope patterns; rotate or reposition antennas, account for terrain and weather, and triangulate sources; decode timing, modulation, direction, or environmental relationships; add confirmed findings to the investigation board; use the new model to locate the next station or trigger a story decision.
Features
- Physical instruments are the puzzle language.
- Receiver control over band, frequency, gain, filter width, and demodulation mode, with an assisted mode that labels control effects.
- Direction finding: a directional antenna produces signal strength and nulls by orientation
- Propagation model where line of sight, terrain shadow, atmospheric conditions, aurora, reflection, and time of day affect signals
- Recorder and analysis can loop, slow, reverse, filter, compare, and align signals
Direction
Visual thesis: ‘Polar brutalism slowly overtaken by ice, light, and electromagnetic color.’ Stations use original 1970s-1990s-inspired scientific architecture (not a copy of a real facility)
