In development

Chain Farm is a portrait-first cozy puzzle game where players trace chains through matching crops, complete farm orders, and spend restoration stars to bring Bramblebrook Farm back to life. The design pairs a tactile 2-4 minute puzzle loop with a calm, persistent restoration metagame.

The core loop

1. Choose the next order from the farm hub. 2. Read one to three level objectives and the move budget. 3. Trace chains, trigger tools and manage blockers. 4. Complete every required objective before moves run out. 5. Earn 1-3 mastery leaves and one restoration star on first completion. 6. Spend stars on the current farm task and choose an appearance when offered. 7. Reveal a character beat, area change or next order.

Features

  • Drag across three or more neighboring crops of the same kind on a 7 x 8 board (authored range 6-8 columns x 7-10 rows)
  • Swept-path touch and mouse chain drawing that captures fast drags between input events, with configurable center magnetism
  • Backtracking correction and same-crop loop closure (a closed loop of 4+ harvests every visible crop of that family)
  • Collapse/refill and dead-board recovery, a move limit, two objectives, score, and win/loss states
  • Chain-length tool creation: Bee Jar at 5-7 crops (3×3 harvest), Row Plow at 8-11 (row and column)

Direction

Art pillars: crafted warmth (hand-shaped forms, gentle asymmetry, broad painted edges, light gouache grain), chunky readability (crops read as five silhouettes before color; interactable objects larger and higher contrast than scenery), root-light magic (botanical growing lines, seed motes, leaf curls, sun-warm glows

Who it is for. Primary: mobile puzzle players who enjoy direct drag interactions and clear goals; cozy-game players motivated by restoration, decoration, gentle characters and collection; adults who play in short breaks and want progression without appointment pressure
