A cozy, offline-first barter-and-crafting puzzle game about repairing a village through fair trades.
In development
Swapcraft is a cozy mobile puzzle adventure where every repaired bridge, lantern, and garden begins with listening to neighbors and finding a fair chain of trades. Players read neighbors’ needs, plan multi-step swap chains, transform materials at a workbench, and complete projects that visibly improve the community. Each project should feel like solving a small escape-room chain inside a warm village: understandable inputs, meaningful choices, multiple recovery paths, and no pressure mechanics.

The core loop
Listen to neighbors and discover exact offers -> plan limited swap chains -> craft intermediate goods at the workbench -> deliver projects that visibly change the community. The player cannot simply buy solutions; they decide which promises to keep. Design: ten seconds to understand an individual action, several minutes to reason through a satisfying project chain, and visible lasting community change after every project.

Direction
2D gouache-and-cut-paper illustration with clean digital silhouettes: broad matte color fields; subtle pigment/grain texture at large scale, never across small text; hand-cut but controlled contours; restrained two-step shadows; ink details used for material and expression, not dense hatching; 3/4 character portraits and simplified side-on world scenes
Who it is for. Primary: mobile players who enjoy cozy games, inventory puzzles, escape-room chains, light crafting, and character-led stories; adults and older teens seeking calm sessions with real reasoning rather than idle accumulation
