Design intent
Build a living fortress on a migrating sky island, keep its crew and machinery operating, and survive storms, raiders, and structural collapse. Bastionfall combines continuous construction, physical artillery, crew logistics, and roguelite expeditions in a wholly original diesel-fantasy world.

The core loop
1. At the Sky Dock, select a route, contract, island chassis, crew and starting modules. 2. Travel through a region while gathering salvage and responding to points of interest. 3. Place structures and connect power, ammunition, access and support networks. 4. Survive weather, hostile craft, boarding parties, fires, leaks and mechanical failure. 5. Choose whether to rescue, trade, fight, divert or extract. 6. Return with crew, blueprints, materials and reputation. 7. Unlock new module families and island doctrines; modify the fortress before the next expedition.
